Lier, Belgium - June 30, 2009, 7:30 AM CET - Porthus (Alternext: ALPTH), a leading OnDemand IT solutions provider today announced the re-branding of its corporate identity.
The new brand will enable a focused and better positioning of Porthus' Global Trade Management Suite and will represent Porthus' position as an established leader in Global Trade Management Solutions.
New Corporate Brand & Positioning
In order to more effectively represent its leadership position in Global Trade Management solutions, Porthus re-launches its corporate website as a first step in a corporate rebranding process. The Porthus logo and baseline will not change. The baseline 'Business without Boundaries' still stands strong as it embodies precisely what Porthus is at its core and what the company achieves for its customers.
Porthus' other OnDemand offerings will reside under the 'Media & Technology' umbrella. Developing and marketing this offering separately will allow a more focused positioning and enable Porthus to increasingly explore the opportunities in this specific market segment.
Global Trade Management Suite
Moving to a focused solutions strategy more accurately communicates how Porthus' Global Trade Management products are integrated and how they can help companies to overcome the complexity of today's global supply chains.
Managing supply chains efficiently and successfully is more complicated than ever. Trying to manage all the different global trade processes manually raises a wide range of concerns amongst supply chain executives. Concerns such as the lack of visibility of critical supply chain processes and the fact that a multi-tier supply chain process can easily become fragmented. They also worry about a loss of operational control and the difficulty of managing third-party providers.
The growing number of operations in the modern supply chain and an increasing number of distribution networks also challenge managerial capabilities. Add to these the rising costs of logistics, variable lead times and the costs associated with Customs and other regulatory bodies and it is clear that an integrated Global Trade Management solution has become increasingly necessary.
Porthus' Global Trade Management Suite is comprised of the following solutions:
- Demand & Supply Management
- Compliance Management
- Financial Management
- Transport & Distribution Management
"We have significantly invested in strengthening our Global Trade Management offering, both in terms of R&D as well as in external growth. We felt our branding and identity no longer represented the Global Trade Management leadership position that our company has grown into over the past few years" stated Luc Burgelman, Porthus' Chief Executive Officer. "We believe our corporate identity will help further communicate our present position, not just as a market leader, but as a company that sets the pace." he added.
